Such a great workout! Stefanie is a true professional with heart. She helps everyone in class have the correct alignment and posture. It’s a tough workout and great!!
This was a super unique experience and made me realize how bad my posture is and how much I can improve! I was sore the next day, in a good way! I’ll be back.
What an amazing class! probably one of the hardest classes I’ve taken a while, but Stefanie is an incredible instructor. She teaches exercises that help correct ailment of the body and techniques to strengthen core. I am recovering from an injury and she really took the time to guide me through each exercise.
Great workout! I’m fairly active and I found that there were muscles that seemed like I had never even worked! I was sore after my first class. Stefanie is very dedicated to showing you correct posture to maximize joint health and flexibility.
Phenomenal work out. Stefanie has created something that everyone can do to improve their all over health. Glad I found this gem.
Wow wow wow….. Just got my ass kicked! I was working out muscles and elongating my body in ways I didn’t think I could. This class is like nothing I have ever tried. Totally recommend it!!
I have been working with Stefanie privately and in her classes for over a year and feel so much relief in my body due to her strengthening and stretching exercises. I no longer feel the need for massage for the tightness in my lower back. I receive compliments on my posture and comments that I have lost weight (due to the toning effects of her exercises). She continually increasing the difficulty of her work both by correcting my positioning and by bringing in new and more difficult exercises. She is fun and inspiring and I look forward to her classes. She knows how to push us appropriately helping us achieve more and more each class while making sure protect ourselves from injury. Stefanie’s Barboza Method is a class above all other exercise systems and methods. The Barboza Method is the best strengthening, body shaping workout I have ever done. For me, it’s also a physical therapy, fixing long standing injuries that chiropractors and orthopedic doctors couldn’t solve. Stefanie knows the body inside out. I am so grateful for what I’ve received from her instruction and what I continue to receive. My body keeps getting stronger and more capable. I am dancing again and my fitness level makes me feel 16, happy for no reason and full of energy.
You will experience collective euphoria. Energy that is unflagging and electric. You only hurt yourself by not trying Stefanie’s Barboza Method or ballet class. Lucky for me, I’m addicted and have found my exercise home. Go Stefanie!
The class is very different to other barre/pilates type classes and it was a really good workout for your core. A great combination of mat work with ballet positions. Stefanie was very knowledgeable and gave lots of helpful corrections. Don’t be fooled – laying down does not equal an easy workout!

The Barboza Method is the best workout I’ve had. It is very challenging and getting me out of my fitness comfort zone. I love how it incorporates ballet technique to improve flexibility, as well. Stefanie is amazing and you can tell she truly loves what she does and loves helping people reach their goals. I am recovering from a hamstring pull and she was very patient and helpful in helping me work through it. Can’t say enough great things. I tell all my friends. Your first class is free so there’s nothing to lose!
OMG, OMG, OMG! I am a workout junkie. I have done everything from yoga, spinning, Pilates reformers, Barre (every one!), rowing… I am a member of 24 Hour Fitness for the pool, Crunch…. but Stefanie’s class made me use muscles I didn’t recognize and brought them to life! It was a revelation! She takes such care with every student, pushes and encourages, she is so inspiring and tough at the same time, I will definitely go back! I am just mad at myself for walking or driving past her studio so many times before and not going in – the time lost! She offers a first class free and believe me, you will be a convert!
Stefanie Barboza is a genius, a healer, generous and tough. I had no idea when I took a class on ClassPass how amazing her classes could be and I intend to take as many as possible. I didn’t know that a class that begins on the floor could be so rigorous and after taking just two classes, with her adjustments, I am more aware of my posture. Stefanie is like a drill sergeant but she really pushes every student to her (and occasionally, his) limit and one is forced to get each muscle to “work” so all the barre/pilates/other classes one has taken that seem harder really aren’t if those muscles aren’t working. She is a walking example of her own method. And her hands-on technique is amazing – she sees “lines,” she says, and goes right in there to push, pull, encourage each student to one’s personal best. The best of the best!!!
I discovered this studio through Classpass. It was by far my favorite studio I went to, and I’m abandoning class pass for it. The workout I get here is the best I’ve ever gotten, and the attention to form is amazing. I’ve only been twice so far and my posture is already changing for the better. You will work butt muscles you didn’t know you had. Both my classes were with Stefanie, and she’s the perfect combination of fun and task master.

She patiently corrects every move during exercises in order to do it right and not to get hurt. She spends time after the class to fix posture. She really cares about her students which I didn’t find in any other exercise class.
The hardest exercise class I have taken and you don’t leave your mat. How is that possible? All due to Stephanie and her incredible method that is so challenging that you want to do well and be up for the challenge. Body changing!! She is amazing and super lovely while making sure you are in correct form. Love her.
The workout is non-impact and done mostly on your back, but that doesn’t make it easy! Stefanie makes you feel muscles you never knew existed. There’s an emphasis on form that has immediate results. You really feel taller and stronger after class! That is, once feeling returns. The studio also offers an intense, yet amazing Stretch class, as well as open-level ballet. Stefanie connects with all her clients, accommodating for injuries as well as on a personal level. All the staff is wonderful!
This is the BEST workout I’ve ever done. I don’t have a dance background but have been sporadically active and thought this would be interesting to try. I will say this is one of the most challenging classes I have ever taken and in 5 classes in already seeing results. Stefanie gives everyone one on one attention during the class, correcting your form, engaging your core, reminding you of posture and helping when needed. I’m throughly impressed and look forward to going to class. UPDATED 4/2018: I’m 5 months into to this class, down 30lbs and a pant size smaller!! GO SIGN UP FOR THIS FITNESS CLASS!!
This is what happens when you haven’t taken a ballet class in forever with a very hands-on instructor: you remember that when done correctly, ballet is fucking hard. Class: Beginners ballet. And yes, unlike other ballet classes in LA that claim to be for beginners, the level is actually beginner. Pretty much followed the standard ballet class structure (but note that it is only 1hr). The teacher gave a lot of personal corrections with detailed technical instruction. After elongating this, sinking that, pushing this way and that, turning out here, and lifting this, I was done. This was solid dance class w/ a good instructor.
I found The Barboza Method through Classpass as was intrigued by her statement about form and alignment, plus how positive all the reviews were, claiming it was one of the hardest classes they’d ever been to. I sit at a desk all day and my posture has suffered to the point of injury, so I’m always looking for workout classes that will relate to my body’s specific weakness and help it heal – not cause further injury. Stefanie’s class is amazing this way, she is constantly adjusting your position – and it isn’t always delicate, but it always feels like she’s showing me what my body’s potential is, even if I’m not yet strong enough to hold it on my own. I recommend starting with her beginners class, it’s just as challenging as the regular class but slower, to learn the technique. I’m also doing personal training sessions with her to fix my bunk shoulder with training and massage and she has been amazing. If you like pilates, barre, dance, and yoga, I cannot recommend this studio highly enough. Your body will thank you.
